Cosas

The picture was taken on a bus. Along with a couple of friends, I was headed for a popular resort called Borsa in Maramures, Romania to do some hiking and get to a well-known waterfall.

The title is the romanian word for mower, this man's trade. It's no easy job or one that provides material satisfaction. The people there know it and I presume that is why they were looking up to this man as he passed their seats. As he walked by me, I could see that he had a faint smile and an expression that read pride. He was indeed very pleased that others were taking an interest in him and his manual lawn mower (called a Coasa). What made me take his picture was the fact that as I saw him I could tell he was no ordinary man, not the usual guy that obsesses about not having enough money to suit his every need. He seemed to be living in a different world, where honor and honesty were the true values and money did not play such a key part in his life.
