The last of my Australia bird pictures, is a bird similar to our plovers. Its length is 190 to 230 mm, and its wingspan 230 to 440 mm. The picture I am showing is of a young one, and in the appendix you will find the mother.
The hooded plover ( Thinornis cucullatus ) is a species of bird in the family Charadriidae . It is endemic to South Australia where it inhabits marine beaches and offshore lagoons. There are two recognised subspecies that form isolated eastern and western populations. Der Kapuzenregenpfeifer ( Thinornis cucullatus ) ist eine Vogelart in der Familie Charadriidae . Es ist in Südaustralien endemisch , wo es Meeresstrände und Lagunen vor der Küste bewohnt. Es gibt zwei anerkannte Unterarten, die isolierte östliche und westliche Populationen bilden.
