Loys Station Covered Bridge

One of only eight remaining covered bridges in the state of Maryland,
the bridge crosses Owens Creek in Frederick County, near Thurmont.

The bridge takes its name from the community that surrounded a station of the old Western
Maryland Railway, once upon a time served by meandering local passenger trains serving the region.

Across the creek is an inviting city park, also providing attractive views of the bridge in its wooded setting.
