MARY ROSE

Taken one morning in mid-August in my garden. Roses this summer have been really fantastic and were some type of consolation for the wet weather.

The rose is named Mary Rose by David Austin after Henry VIII’s flagship which was recovered from the Solent after more than four hundred years at the bottom of the sea.

This has a “delicious fragrance is of Old Rose character, with a hint of honey and almond blossom”. On this photo I like the way the morning light touches the petals.
