Meet at Marcy Avenue
Two trains of modern design R-160 railcars meet at the Marcy Avenue station in the Williamsburg
section of Brooklyn. The M Train on the left has just crossed the Williamsburg Bridge, whose towers
are seen in the distance, from Manhattan’s Lower East Side; it is headed for Queens, after a few
more stops in Brooklyn. The other train, bound for Manhattan, will shortly cross over the East River
on that same bridge, affectionately known by New Yorkers as the “Willy B.”
The Marcy Avenue station is served by the J, M, and Z trains of the New York City Subway
system, all of which use the “Willy B” to cross between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
