M'LIEN

One girl of the Ede hill tribe children from the village of M’Lien. It was a nice day in early March and the children were playing around the village after school had ended for the day. I was travelling with Loc Mai (a Vietnamese photographer on this site and a brilliant guide) and he took me to some wonderful places.

M’Lien is a small village off the beaten track. You cannot get there by coach (look at the bridge in the versions I uploaded yesterday) so it has not been spoiled by tourism. The people live according to their ancient culture, religion and rituals. But how long will they be able to maintain their way of life? Already the traditional dress is no longer worn on a day to day basis but only for ceremonies.

I’m quite sure you will be able to resist this little girl. Thank you for your comments.

Have a nice day,

Jean-Noël
