Monks at the Red Chapel

Every year in April monks carry out the Buddha image and turn around the Wat Xieng Thong in Luang Prabang.
Here seen passing the Red Chapel one of the most photogenic and important buildings of Wat Xieng Thong.
The original date of the construction of the chapel is uncertain to this writer; its important Buddha sculpture dates from the 16th century.

The photo was captured in 1989 by a conventional Ektachrome 50 ASA slide film and scanned with a NIKON CoolScan 5000 ED.
