No traffic signs...
Morocco Fez
Fez, one of the most picturesque place of Morocco, is particularly famous for its medina. It is considered the biggest, most "daidalous" and best preserved historic medina in the islamic world, a really precious architectural, archaeological and urban heritage. It constitutes an outstanding specimen of a medieval maze of tiny streets that, once lost in them, you need the help of an authorized guide to help you out in the open. The gates open at dawn and close late at night allowing thousands of people to carry out their daily business. In certain parts traffic is virtually impossible. If you add to that the noise, the shouts and of course the smell of the various items for sell, you certainly get a picture that remains unforgettable in all your life. Honestly, I've been in many medinas around the world but this is a spectacle that for the first time I came across with!..
Amazingly difficult task was also to carry an analogue mechanical camera, at the size of Mamiya 645, as digital cameras were not yet in the market.! (late 80's)
Fez is also home to the oldest university in the world founded in 859.

Anche se in bianco e nero è una scena "variopinta", che c fa sentire parte di un ambiente unico, ricco di storia e tradizioni.Un cordiale saluto,

wow, this one definitely belongs in the "people" section! ; ) the donkey looks fed-up and exhausted from being pushed around and cursed by the crowd… what a jam indeed! fascinating capture! funny detail: the man near the right edge of the shot, and how he's picking his nose. probably thought no one in the crowd would bother to look… greetings, sabine.Harold Thompson 13/12/2013 10:12
I think the donkey wants to go back missed a stall delivery :-)) Busy when you took it what will it be like today ?:-)) Harold

Well....the donkey seems to know what he is doing :)))))......and is keeping the crowds at bay.
Who needs traffic signs anyway.....are they not there simply for many folk to ignore ???
An excellent shot

oh yes - I remember it well .... a fascinating place, this narrow bazar street so crowded with people and animals and goods hanging outside the shops - a well timed capture, especially with the gent in the low right hand corner :-))))greetings, Adele
P.S. I too had an analog camera with me - and took my pictures very sparingly :-))
