as soon as possible.....
At the districts of Cape Town is the "tin city", a huge second city of thousands of people living in apalling tin houses and on bare necessities. The majority of them are unemployed that with daybreak they flee to city center in search of some work,The few luckier ones they struggle to keep on with any kind of local trade in small shops. Their dream is to build a real home and quite often this remains for ever a dream...
I saw this woman sitting silently and looking lost in thoughts. She told me that this is the house she and her husband are building..When I asked her when it would be ready she replied: "As soon as possible"

Poignante photo :excellent cliché d'une vie difficile ! SimoneDagi.H. 13/01/2014 13:58
Your Photo touches me, makes me think. An attractive woman without a future - wait, hope, eventually accept the situation as a chance in this world!
If she had the possibilities of education and higher education, study, perhaps it would be a doctor, scientist ...
Regards Dagi

I have enjoyed this one work by you. The story is touching. What I find in conjunction to your story is the fact something is in her hand. Not a few coins but something more like a cross. The fact she sits there in the day I get the strong feeling that she is like the watch guard making sure what resources they have or someone has is not stolen for another persons, again nice.adriana lissandrini 18/12/2013 21:41
What a long way there is still to do! How many sad situations and still degrading ... and not only there. It is a great photo, tells of resignation dignified lives almost hopeless .. I am infinitely sad for her and for many others and before long even for us!un abbraccio, Adriana

Your story is so touching that it brings tears to my eyes.A wonderful and gentle documentation. I admire this unbroken power of these people and the ability to never give up their dreams. Thank you for this picture, that one makes clear, how good we have it in the Western world.
Best Greetings, Roland
