Risky Business - Point of Rocks Station

Not at all sure I would recommend this busy mainline as a place for parents and children to play,
but I suppose it was safe enough, as there were several of us scrutinizing the tracks in both directions.

It's the Francis Baldwin designed Baltimore and Ohio Railroad station at Point of Rocks, Maryland. The station sits at a wye (*) forming the junction of the Metropolitan Subdivision (from Washington) and the historic Old Main Line (from Baltimore). Here they join for high-speed westbound travel to Brunswick, Harpers Ferry, and points beyond on the CSX. These days, the station sees only commuter passenger service on the MARC Brunswick Line, which actually extends into West Virginia, carrying commuters to and from work in Washington.

The moment was captured on FomaPan 100 Classic black and white
film in my Nikon FM, through a Nikkor AI-s 80-200mm f/4 lens.
