Steam in the Snow No.2
Winter enchantment for a train-loving photographer...
Hoping to shoot "Steam in the Snow" on my first visit
to the Preßnitztalbahn Narrow Gauge Railway, I was
not disappointed as the big wet snowflakes began to fly.
Amidst the swirling snow, steam, and coal smoke, this
Preßnitztalbahn passenger train makes a dramatic display
as it departs Steinbach for the trip along the Wildbach
to the other end of the line at Jöhstadt.
The 750-mm gauge line is in the Erzgebirge region
of eastern Germany, near the Czech border.

What a sight. The powerful black steam train, waiting departure, is looking great with fthe at snow flakes surrounding it. Very well done, Steve.Regards, Manuel

fairy-tale weather for a fairy-tale veteran: snow definitely becomes her! it garnishes her home-made steam and makes her look both picturesque and imposing, when emerging from her own powerful cloud like a hard-working horse enjoying its own zest and splendor! my favorite detail, though, is the man with baseball cap: although his face is obscured by the whirling snowflakes, i still can perceive his pleased smile! greetings, sabine.
