Early one morning I was awoken by these magnificent hues, creeping through the curtains in my bedroom window, at the hotel,

As any nature lover I had to investigate with camera at hand.

When I was young I always had the idea, that the African sun-rises and sun-sets were the ultimate.

Now I realize that it was not the rich warm hues of the sun, but the background and atmosphere created by the vegetation and landscape.

The veld of Africa is dominated by the thorn trees that are the mark of the area, these are;

The Acacia erioloba Family: Fabaceae Common names: camel thorn; (kameeldoring) Afrikaans.

As the Eucalyptus is unique to Australia and Palm trees litter the countries of most Asian countries, northern Africa, and many other countries.
