The highway to Kathmandu
Kodari was the finish point of our Tibetan driver Siri and the hired Chinese car. No way for going on and the car with the Chinese license plate have to be retuned to Lhasa.
Four heavy landslides occurred just the day before stopped all ongoing traffic to the 111 km way to Kathmandu.
We'd a strenuous walk for nearly one kilometer with all the baggage and equipment, passing around or beside the muddy sludge. Some boys already waiting to offer their help and earning some Rupies. Then at the other side some busses waiting to give us the lift for the last part of the whole journey, 110 km to Kathmandu.
My picture is taken in May 2004 with a NIKON CoolPix 5000.
