Transit Museum Holiday Train Show at Grand Central Terminal - No.1
Somehow it wouldn't be Holiday Season without at least one display of electric trains.
As some of my earliest memories of this magical time of year have to do with Lionel Electric Trains,
whether running through my own "railroad empire" or marveled at while visiting elaborate layouts, it was
lovely to finally catch up with this exciting display in New York's Grand Central Terminal, earlier this month.
The New York City Transit Museum hosts this magical 1/4 inch to one foot
(O Gauge) layout every year in its annex within this temple of transportation.
Here, a New York City Subway train runs along an elevated structure snaking
between the Chrysler Building and the MetLife (formerly PanAm) Building.
The layout is thirty-four feet long, and features multiple trains running on
multiple levels, including some tracks serving the platforms under GCT.
The 17th Annual Holiday Train Show is on view through February 24, 2019
at the Transit Museum's Annex and Store on the main level of GCT.
