7(Night)Scape No.7 - Manhattan-Bound Departing QBP

A Manhattan-bound 7 train of the New York City Subway system departs
the lower level of the two-level elevated Queensboro Plaza Station.

This fascinating station in Long Island City, Queens is the meeting point for the [IRT]
7 Trains of the Flushing Line and the [BMT] Astoria Line - thus a good spot to view the
different profiles/lengths of A- and B-Division trains on the same platforms.

Outbound trains (7 to Flushing, N or W to Astoria) meet on the
upper platform, while Manhattan-bound trains serve the lower level.

The red signal will keep the next train at a safe distance as this 7 train curves around under
the iconic Silvercup Studios sign (*) as it heads for the next elevated stop at Court Square.

Taken during rush hour on a December evening in 2017, the photo makes its first appearance
here (during an oppressive stretch of hot steamy weather along the U.S. East Coast!).
