A Seasonal Disconnect

The 8th of March last year and, with the official start of Spring less than
two weeks away, Annapolis was still in the tenacious grip of Winter.

This scene, on the dock of the Annapolis Yacht Club in Eastport, told me that, even absent the umbrella,
this patio furniture was an expression of optimism for an appropriately warm arrival of Spring.

It also seemed to speak to the hardy nature of Annapolitans. You'll notice that, in the midst of the
surrounding piles of snow, the chairs and table are entirely clean and dry, ready for any who’d like
to “set a spell” and take in the marine ambiance of Spa Creek and the view across to downtown Annapolis.

Taken through the 40 mm lens of my Olympus 35RD on Kodak T400CN film, the image is of part of a portfolio
of Annapolis, Severn River, and Chesapeake Bay scenes in all seasons, in both black and white and color.
