American Iconic - No. 1
Whether the name starts with Silver...or Joe's...or Hilltop...or Route Such-and-Such,
the appearance is of an Americana that transcends generations.
And, really, does meat loaf, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and green beans ever go out of style?
Banana Splits? Hot Fudge Sundaes? Elvis or The Platters or Sinatra on the jukebox?
Not for this guy.
The Silver Diner in Merrifield, Virginia was shot on a sparkling summer day on Agfa-200 color negative film through the 40mm f/1.7 lens of my trusty little '70s-vintage Canonet QL17 GIII compact rangefinder, using a polarizing filter.
Film - Timeless as...an American diner. And just as yummy.
Hey, pass me a quarter for the jukebox!
