Eastport Winter - No. 1
Spring is less than two weeks away, but winter still has the Chesapeake Bay in its icy grip on this March afternoon. Ice floes and fog and rain are the order of the day, but the bold red, white, and blue of this boat lend a welcome splash of color to an otherwise monochromatic Chesapeake waterscape.
Across the water on the Broadneck Peninsula, the radio towers of the Naval Academy can just be seen through the fog.
The photograph was taken from a pier at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, which looks out into the Bay from Eastport.
From a Fujichrome transparency.
