Juggling work and home

Ranu (26) a sex worker in Dhaka prepares for a long night, having put her baby son Sohel to sleep on the roadside. Since the capital’s brothels were demolished nearly a decade ago, sex workers — mostly from families so poor that they were sold or abandoned as children — are forced to operate on the streets. While she’s gone with customers, little Sohel will stay safe with a women who lives in the slums across the street.
