Toy story

For a child growing up in the slums of Dhaka, a discarded, torn slipper serves as a toy, collected from rubbish dumps which children are often sent to sift through to collect items that can be recycled or resold. The matted brown hair and the slight frame are signs of malnutrition, which often results in poor physical growth and shortened lifespans – a fate that millions of children in Bangladesh share.
