Northbound Amtrak on Neabsco Creek Trestle
In the golden light of late afternoon in summer, Amtrak Genesis P42DC diesel-electric locomotive No. 179 is on
the point of a northbound passenger train as it crosses the trestle past one of the marinas on Neabsco Creek in
Prince William County, Virginia.
The train's next station stop will be in Alexandria before crossing the
Long Bridge over the Potomac on its way to Washington's Union Station.
In addition to Amtrak, the bridge serves weekday commuter service on the
Virginia Railway Express Fredericksburg Line, as well as CSX freight traffic.
