Princess Likanrayen
Princess Likanrayen Square in Puerto Varas
The sculpture located in this square represents the brave and beautiful Princess Likanrayen, commemorating part of our ancestral history, since before the arrival of the German settlers, the coast of Lake Llanquihue was inhabited by the Williche people, natives of southern Chile, who left us this beautiful story as a legacy. Legend of Princess Likanrayen Legend has it that there was a beautiful young Williche woman named Likanrayen, loved by her people for her generosity and joy. Her beauty was such that, when she walked through the forest, the trees blossomed and the birds accompanied her, singing incessantly.
