Soft Summer Breeze - a Patapsco Valley Impression
I do not recall if a warm and gentle breeze was part of this summertime idyll as I roamed
the grounds of All Saints Convent (*) in the Patapsco Valley on this August afternoon.
However, as it often does when I’m out with the cameras, my trusty “Gray Matter Gramophone,” that resourceful music library and player that sits just behind this photographer’s eyes, precisely oriented between his ears, quickly brought forth Eddie Heywood’s classic piano trio setting of “Soft Summer Breeze.”(**)
It went so nicely with the experience that it seemed only right to make it the title of this new summertime impression. The original photo was taken in 2014, but the experience could have been years distant. Timeless music is like that too.
May it bring you the scent of warm blossoms and vines of honeysuckle off in the
woods leading down into the valley…and the caress of a soft summer breeze.
