Springtime on the C & O Canal - A Potomac Impression

Naturally, it will be a pleasure to create a new version of this Springtime impression at such time as the hull of the
canal boat is once again caressed by lapping waters, as the mule team prepares to haul her and her passengers
down the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, parallel to the rushing Potomac at Great Falls, in the direction of Georgetown.
But first, the restoration work must be completed on the canal and its locks and the water replenished.

Meantime, what a photo-inspiring setting, even in its temporarily purgatorial state, with the combination of
pastel greens of new growth in the trees complimented by the intense pinks of the Eastern Redbuds along
the canal and the old wood of the locks and bridges near the Great Falls Visitor's Center in Potomac, Maryland.

Thus, I couldn't resist working up an image from some newly arrived lab scans, from film shot during a visit last April,
as a means of looking ahead to the allure of a colorful Spring 2020. The impression was created from a Ferrania Solaris-200 film image shot through the 40mm f/1.7 Zuiko lens of my Olympus 35RD compact rangefinder camera.
