Larch Valley Autumn - Larch Valley Trail
In 1999, I made a point of returning to Moraine Lake, a favorite location in the Canadian Rockies, in time to see the changing colors of the Lyall’s Larches in Larch Valley, actually a mountain plateau high above the lake, as they transitioned to shades of gold. (*). The glacial turquoise of this gem of a lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks (**) has always been a strong attraction, but this particular visit was planned around those golden larches. Well, at least, I was hoping my timing was right for capturing autumn’s gold.
Mother Nature did smile a big Canadian Rockies welcome.
Captured on Kodak Gold-100 film through the 30mm Schneider lens of my little
Rollei Prego Micron, which was along for the hike with the SLR "big guys" that afternoon.
